Firm History

Top Tier Capital Partners grew out of the fund of funds practice that began in 1999 at Paul Capital. In April 2011, a management-led change in ownership created a San Francisco-based, management-controlled firm, though we continue to enjoy close ties with our colleagues at Paul Capital. The new name reflects the legacy of our investment fund series—the Top Tier family of venture capital funds of funds, which has raised $2 billion from investors since its inception. The name also reflects our dedication to always remain a cut above.
